HAPI-C Membership ID Renewal and Blood Typing Outreach

On August 04, 2012, HAPI-C members gathered at the HAPI-C office at Perpetual Succour Hospital, Cebu city. Over 130 members showed up, both coming from Cebu province and from the other islands. The event started at 08:00AM.

Patients and family members alike had their photos and updated information taken for their membership ID renewal.

For this event, HAPI-C also had a blood typing for its members, as this crucial information is to be provided on the new ID format. (Having an official blood type may prove useful in times of emergency, when the patient has a significant amount of blood loss, when factor alone is not enough.) The blood typing test was performed by the medical technicians of the Perpetual Succour Hospital - over 100 members participated.

This day also served as the cheque disbursement for the beneficiaries of Save One Life (SOL), a partner program of HAPI-C that provides financial assistance for qualified indigent hemophilia patients.

By noon, HAPI-C's medical adviser Dr. Lynda Mae Lepatan dropped by as part of touring her visitors to the hospital. They were Dr. Alexander from Novo Nordisk (a pharmaceutical company) with Dr. Hernandez and Ms. Santos from the Philippine National Hemophilia Foundation (PNHF).

Later in the afternoon, HAPI-C's young adult volunteers held a meeting to discuss the group's upcoming activities.
